Teradata Appoints Richard Petley as EVP, EMEA Region Sales
Petley Brings Extensive Experience in Delivering Hyper Growth in the Cloud and Driving Company Transformations
Teradata (NYSE: TDC) today announced that Richard Petley has been appointed as EVP, EMEA Region. In this role, Petley will guide the region in creating strategic account plans, helping to develop a strong pipeline of opportunities, and driving a culture of value-based selling. As a member of the Go-To-Market (GTM) leadership team, Petley will also play a significant role in activating Teradata’s global strategy.
Rich brings a people, cloud, customer, and partner first approach to leading and winning, with proven experience in guiding teams to incredible success and cloud growth in this region,” said Todd Cione, Chief Revenue Officer at Teradata. “I am confident that Rich will be an excellent partner to other leaders across the company, sharing his best practices and collaborating with us to propel Teradata forward in becoming the connected multi-cloud data platform for enterprise analytics.”
With more than 20 years of experience and an accomplished and consistent record of delivering enterprise results on premises and in the cloud, Petley joins the team from Oracle, where he was Senior Vice President, Western Europe, for Oracle Cloud, and Managing Director, Oracle UK. Prior to Oracle, Petley held sales leadership positions at IBM, with consistent success in growth areas of enterprise software, SaaS and AI.

Petley is a strong advocate for sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion; he has served on Oracle’s Global Sustainability Council and its EMEA Diversity Council. Additionally, he has been a board member of TechUK, sat on the CBI Technology Council, and has served on the Technology Strategy Group for the Prince's Trust.
